GM Pravin Thipsay is a Arjuna Awardee (1984), First Indian to get a Grandmaster norm (1985), Won Indian National Championship Seven Times, Represented India in Seven Chess Olympiads, Played first International tournament for India in 1975, FIDE Senior Trainer from 2022, Head of The Indian Delegation during 44th Chess Olympiad, 2022. Government of India’s Observer for Chess between 1997-2004.
