Everything you need to know
Zero! This camp is designed for complete beginners. If your child knows how a chess board looks, that's a bonus — but not required.
Any laptop, tablet, or computer with internet connection works. We recommend a laptop or tablet for the best experience. Phone screens are a bit small but will work in a pinch. Just need a stable internet connection and a quiet space to learn!
Your child will have all the basics to play chess independently! They can play with friends, join school chess clubs, or continue learning online. We also offer advanced courses for kids who want to keep going — but there's zero pressure. This camp is complete on its own.
By the end of 20 classes they'll know all the pieces, how they move, opening principles, tactics, endgames — and will have played and won real games, including our end-of-camp tournament!
This is a real parental anxiety that nobody asks but everyone has. Small class of 8 means the coach notices if someone zones out. Classes are puzzle-based and game-based, not lecture-style.
